EAT your Heart Out

This Valentine's Day, I told  Sweetie that I will send her Dunkin Donuts. The heart-shaped ones with chocolate frosting and sprinkles. She said, it's better than not having anything because last year I totally forgot to get her anything.

But I opted for these chocolate-coated strawberries from Shari's Berries... and she just loved them. I so love the look in her eyes and the smile on her lips after every bite she took.

Happy Valentine's Day, my Sweetie.

Love

I am not a romantic guy, I had to admit. Or rather, I have a hard time expressing what I feel. And it's totally opposite with my Sweetie.

Valentine's day is always a struggle for me. I hate flowers but my Sweetie loves it so much. It's hard to explain why I prefer diamond, which is a girl's bff, isn't it? Well, she loves diamond too [who doesn't] but she loves flowers and I hate it because I think is a waste of money because you just throw them out when they already served their purpose.
This year I tried to make amends for my shortcoming last Valentine's day. She said, I was getting very creative this time and I just love the way she smiled.

I love you always, my Sweetie!

True Blood

Thanks for the article from Jermaine Haynes

Thank goodness we got direct star Tv just in time for the start of my favorite television of all time, “True Blood”. I am usually not someone who enjoys science fiction and vampire themed movies and shows. I haven’t seen or read the “Twilight” series or seen the “Harry Potter” movies. I started watching “True Blood” earlier this year when we went to my in-laws house for a long visit. The first season of the series was available on their cable network. By the time we left a week later, my husband and I had watch all of the episodes from season one to season three. “True Blood” incorporates drama, comedy, and vampire action and acts like a drug that leaves you wanting more. The characters are colorful and the plots are intriguing. I also love that it is set in a small bayou town in the heart of Louisiana. The setting has an authentic feel. Not to mention the male cast is composed of very attractive males who are often not wearing their shirts! I can’t wait until the next season starts!

A Back Pain of Different Kind

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

My Sweetie isn’t a nurse. I wish she was. But whenever I feel pain her touch is what I only need and my back pain will be gone in no time.  Well a little help from a little pill is a big plus of course. That is because no matter how healing her hands are, I do need some pain pills so to speak.

But just recently my Sweetie told me that Walgreens and Express Scripts contract expire last December 31, 2011. Walgreens and Tricare’s agreement concession to remain under the Express Scripts’ network finally ended.   This news has a great impact not only on my back pain but on my pocket as well as the military families and friends in our neighborhood. Express Scripts’ teaming up with our trusted pharmacy is a big plus but now that it ended, it means that we need to drive 30 miles in town to get our prescription instead of driving down the street even in the middle of the night because it’s open 24-hrs. And this situation will surely add more pain on my back, both literally and figuratively speaking.

Walgreen has been our trusted pharmacy for years and since it’s within our neighborhood it’s kinda a homey place to get our medication and prescription refills from people we know personally. Yes, we are on first-name basis with the pharmacists at our neighborhood Walgreens so ordering prescription refills is a no brainer.

Well despite of all the events that happened, Walgreens is doing everything to help ease the burden of its customers. They are offering a special discount on annual membership for its Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens.  This club is awesome because individuals may join for only $5 and receive discount prices on their prescriptions and the benefits that one can get from this, like:
Savings on more than 8,000 brand-name and all generic medications
Discounts on flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizers and diabetic supplies
Bonuses when you purchase Walgreens brand products and photofinishing services
… are more than enough to ensure its members of a better life. Good thing we are club members. Imagine for just $10 a year, our family membership covers everyone in my immediate family. Yes, that includes my Sweetie of course and my youngest son and yes, his new cat Claire which we gave him as our Christmas present.

In this tough economy where health insurance and price of medicine are basic commodities we need to work together to help each other live a better healthy lives. And we can start by supporting Walgreens and stay updated by liking Walgreens on Facebook and following Walgreens on Twitter.  We already did, it’s your turn now.
