Porch

Summer is almost over but here in Maine, we would do everything to prolong summer the best way we can. It may not be possible to do it literally but we can do it by doing what we love best until the snow finally falls on the ground.
One of the activities we love doing during summer is grilling. We love our cookouts. If we can have cookouts all-year-round we would do it. And there is no better way to have cookouts but at your porch.
Here are some photos of one of the porches that I've done.
If you want one like this...

Siding aside

Siding is one of my best works in carpentry. It is my favorite part of any construction project I am working on. Well, it's a no brainer. It's the easiest part of the whole building construction.
Here is one of the projects I am working on.
See the transformation?
It's finished!
Well, not really. I still have to put some trimmings here and there.

However, if you are thinking of new sidings for your home, don't hesitate to

Rain

Weather in Maine is always crazy. When the Meteorologist tells you that it will be a nice sunny day... bring an umbrella with you because it means it might rain. LOL

My Sweetie and her friends went for a hike a couple of weeks ago in New Hampshire. It rained and she took a nice photo of this cascading water on a rocky hills or was it a falls?

Just want to share this for Thursday Challenge.

Post Birthday Update

WARNING: I am busy lately that is why this is a late post.
Last month, 3 of the 4 most important girls in my life cooked up something special for my birthday.
My birthday was actually on the last week of May but due to some work-related reasons I had my celebration with my family on the 2nd week of June.
It was a simple cookout but I can tell that they did make careful preparations to make it really special.
As usual my daughters made a special cake for Daddy.
As for my Sweetie, despite her busy work schedule and race training she still came up with an awesome presentation of the dessert table.
Her dessert table didn't disappoint us with her artistic display of fruit kebabs.
Can you tell that I did have another wonderful birthday celebration with the most important people in my life?

New porch for my girl

Last November I got a little busy working on my daughter's porch. Her old one was already dangerously worn out and almost dilapidated.

Photo of my boy going down the stairs. Look how worn out they are.

Photos of my boy years ago at the porch while sissy was grilling.

Well, porch is one of my expertise, bragging aside so I am sharing some of the photos of the finished job that my Sweetie took.
This is the stairs looking down from the smaller or upper porch at the main door.
Same stairs going down the landing or the bigger or lower porch.
This lower porch is big enough for outdoor entertaining, grilling, chilling, or sunbathing which my daughter loves doing during summertime.

The second stairs going to the lower porch.
It took me about a couple of weeks to finish the job. It could be shorter if not for the weather. So if you like to have one like this.... contact me. wink*** :)
